Hurricane Ian

Ian’s aftermath

Overall, we did well with Ian’s wind and waves.

Well, the track predictors were wrong and Ian moved to the north east and came right across the state. Wednesday evening and night brought 80 mph winds to the island. Because the track shifted, the winds came from the southeast, battering the B side with wind and waves. Lots of water, waves over the seawalls, and several dock parts broken off. Overall, the island fared well with only a few trees and docks being damaged. The biggest issue was the standing water. After talking to several people, it sounds like we got off relatively easy and lots of lessons were learned.
